Minimum Requirements to Receive a Diploma upon Graduation

At Elite Open School, we ensure that your curriculum is specifically designed to suit your high school needs. We provide the appropriate classes that allow you to easily transition from high school to colleges and universities, vocational schools, or the workplace. 

Students earn one credit for each 36-week (yearlong) course and a half credit for each 18-week (semester) course. To fulfill graduation requirements and receive their diploma, students must acquire 19.5 credits with an average of C or higher. For our College Prep Program, they must acquire 21.5 credits.

+EOS will facilitate completion of science lab requirements by partnering with local schools where students can be supervised by certified teaching staff. In the future, EOS staff will be certified to teach “wet lab” requirements.


Applying to College?

Most of our students plan on applying to colleges and universities. So it is important to remember that both 2- and 4-year colleges and universities generally have the following requirements:

  • 15 academic units in English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Foreign Language
  • Minimum Math requirement: Algebra 2
  • Minimum Science requirement: Biology and Chemistry or Physics
  • Some colleges and universities may require 2 or more years of a foreign language course.

In addition, students planning to attend a University of California campus or California State University campus will want to consider the following graduation requirements - “A-G Requirements.”


Graduation Package*

All full time seniors will be required to pay a fee for the graduation package.

  • Full Time Students, 1+ Years: $250
  • Full Time students, < 1 year: $350

Includes

  • High school diploma (1) 
  • Official transcripts and academic records
  • College matriculation services


*For students taking a gap year or are not applying to college right away will need to pay for the diploma and transcripts separately. The graduation package only applies to current seniors.

 

If there are any outstanding payments by the end of senior year, the student will not be able to receive their diploma nor will they be able to request transcripts until their account has been settled. There will also be a $25 late charge fee applied to the account.
