Organizational structure

EOS is an independent, accredited division of the Center for Future Global Leaders (CFGL), a 501(c)(3), operating under the CFGL Board's fiduciary oversight, drawing on college counseling and test-prep experience dating back to 1987.

Board of Directors

An independent board of veteran educators, technology innovators, and non-profit leaders — responsible for the school's financial health, evaluation of the Head of School, and continuous WASC and Cognia compliance.

School leadership

Rina Park, M.Ed.

Head of School

I am the Head of School at Elite Open School and have been interested in and working for the education system since my high school years. I started my journey interning as an assistant curriculum developer for the high school enrichment program, School-Connect, and created the speech and debate curriculum for middle school students at Elite Educational Institute. On top of curriculum development, I volunteered with Team Kids, a non-profit organization which focuses on empowering young students to be leaders in their schools and communities. Prior to my years as the Head of School, I served as the coordinator for the International Academic Competition at the non-profit organization, Center for Future Global Leaders. My B.A. is in Psychology and Social Behavior, with a minor in Education, from University of California, Irvine and a M.Ed. with a focus on Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University.

Shannon O'Connor, M.S.Ed.

Assistant Head of School

I am proud to be Elite Open School's Assistant Head of School. Prior to beginning this position, I held over five years of experience in EOS academic management, coordinating and implementing online and blended learning programs and have established partnerships with various course providers, institutions, and organizations. I am passionate about instructional design and seek to merge the best attributes of modern educational technology with traditional classroom pedagogy. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of California, Irvine and a M.S.Ed. with a focus in Learning Sciences and Technologies from the University of Pennsylvania.

Stephanie Handley, M.A.T.

Head of Capstone Programs

I love my role as the Head of Capstone Programs at Elite Open School. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in both English and Psychology from the University of Southern California and my teaching credential and Master of Arts in Teaching from UC, Irvine, I worked for 14.5 years as a public high school teacher in Southern California, where I taught English (including AP Literature) and served terms as our school's yearbook advisor and the English department chair. I started the AP Capstone program at Elite Open School in 2023, developing and teaching our AP Seminar and AP Research courses. I love seeing our students grow as researchers and critical thinkers, and I'm so proud of the work they do. I also develop curriculum for a range of subjects and serve as an AP Reader for AP Seminar.

Bukle Ünaldı Kamel, B.A., B.S.

Program and Curriculum Lead

I am the Academic Program Lead at Elite Open School and I am deeply passionate about active learning pedagogy, and interdisciplinary curriculum design. I love merging technology with instruction, from directing the Global AI Venture Studio summer program to developing digital tools and interactive games designed to teach AI. Prior to my current work, I built remote robotics laboratory services that took first place in education at the Microsoft Imagine Cup global tech competition. Throughout my career, I have led several K–12 and undergraduate initiatives and co-authored a peer-reviewed publication on the future of higher education. I hold a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Humanities and Social Sciences from Minerva University, and I am pursuing a Master of Science in Information Management at the University of Washington.
